Health & Safety: Risk Assessment
In order to ensure that we observe all of the necessary safety precautions needed when filming in risky locations such as this, it is important that we analyse and assess all of the precautions we need to take before we go out and shoot. We composed a risk assessment sheet and detailed the risk of each phase of our filming.

Lyrical Breakdown And Analysis
|
|
Deep in the ocean, dead and cast away
Discarded, no longer needed.
Where innocence is burned in flames
A million mile from home, I'm walking ahead
I'm frozen to the bones, I am...
Exiled soldier?
A soldier on my own, I don't know the way
I'm riding up the heights of shame
I'm waiting for the call, the hand on the chest
I'm ready for the fight, and fate
The sound of iron shocks is stuck in my head,
The thunder of the drums dictates
The rhythm of the falls, the number of dead's
The rising of the horns, ahead
From the dawn of time to the end of days
I will have to run, away
I want to feel the pain and the bitter taste
Of the blood on my lips, again
This deadly burst of snow is burning my hands,
I'm frozen to the bones, I am
A million mile from home, I'm walking away
I can't remind your eyes, your face
The lyrics are about war and conflict, and are mostly open to interpretation by the audience. This is a positive aspect because each person could get something different out of the video. We want people to question the meaning of the video because that is what keeps people interested and fuels discussion.

We want our video to represent the genre well and feel that if we used the ten commandments of 'being a raver' fromt he deamau5 video for 'I Remember' we could possibly make the video more interesting.
1. Location, location, location.
On-Locaion Prop Creation
We had the idea to feature torches in our video ever since analysing 'Marka' By Dub Phizix. We felt that it helped reinforce the theme of exploring and location scouting in our video. The idea links very closely to the 'I Remember' video by Deadmau5.
I created medieval style torches by wrapping flammable fabric around a metal rod. I tied it with metal brake cable so that the torch would remain safe to hold and use, so the fastenings would not melt at a high temperature. We used high quality zippo fuel as our accelerant for a clean flame and a safer ignition.
We took extra care to only film after a day of heavy rain. The damp environment was a lot safer to record with fire around than a dry one, so that fire could not catch or spread and kept the location safe.

Division of Roles
We felt the need to clarify our role division during the production phase of our video.
Our idea is that I am going to perform the narrative shots and essentially act in the video as a narrator. Billy is going to be doing the narrative shots and I am going to be telling his story with the lyrics in my performance shots. Our paths do not cross throughout the video, so this gives us a lot of scope to expand and modify our script to how we see fit. By keeping our ideas broad enough to be flexible, it means that if we change our mind during the production phase we can fall back to a different idea easily and without hindrance.
The planning and research sections are entirely individual between me and my production partner Billy. We made detailed plans about what we would do and then went off about it separately to avoid confusion as to who did what. Overall I am more technical and practical, Billy is more theoretical and thoughtful.
